SOZITELA

From the Heart of Kinnaur

Enter the Valley
31.5°N — Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh

Where the mountains
keep their oldest secrets.

Kinnaur sits where the Sutlej river carves through granite and pine, a district of terraced orchards, cliffside villages, and trade routes older than memory. Here, the land does not hurry. It gives once a year, and only to those who know how to wait for it.

Sozitela began as a promise to the families who still farm this way — that what grows in Kinnaur should be tasted exactly as the valley intended, without shortcuts, without noise.

"We are not building a food brand.
We are translating a valley."

2,800 – 3,600 Metres

Forests that take
a century to answer.

The Chilgoza pine takes up to twenty years to bear its first cone, and grows only across a narrow band of the Kinnaur and Kinnaur–Kashmir corridor. It cannot be rushed, replicated, or farmed at scale — which is precisely why it has never been ordinary.

From Cone to Kernel

A harvest that cannot be rushed.

Late Summer
Cone Collection
Mature cones are gathered by hand from steep, high-altitude groves — a task passed down through generations of Kinnauri families.
Autumn
Open-Air Drying
Cones are laid out under the mountain sun until they open naturally, releasing the kernels without any artificial heat.
Post-Harvest
Hand-Cracking
Each shell is cracked by hand to protect the delicate kernel inside — a slower method than machine processing, and a gentler one.
Final Stage
Selection & Packing
Kernels are sorted by hand for size and quality, then sealed to preserve their natural oils and flavour until they reach you.
